BT 101 - Introduction to Biotechnological Science

This course is designed to provide a basic overview of the biotechnology and food industry. It will provide a thorough understanding of the organizational structure of a manufacturing facility and the steps involved from discovery to commercialization. This course will provide exposure to the basic principles will provide a better understanding of career opportunities and possibilities.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

demonstrate an understanding of the process of manufacturing from bench to commercialization;
recognize the differences between food processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing;
