AR 108 - Architectural Graphics/Lab Credit Hours: 3
A two-part course. Part one deals with lettering and the basic principles of projection as they relate to and are used in the production of architectural working drawings. Part two covers the production and interpretation of architectural working drawings for a small residential structure reflecting standard architectural procedures for drawing, dimensioning and symboling.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:
- understand and employ basic graphics used in residential construction;
- understand and draw (manual drafting) some drawings for a basic residential wood frame structure;
- understand and employ basic projection principles in order to draw (manual drafting) isometric, and orthographic;
- identify and properly use Architectural graphic symbols, lines, cross-referencing, and vocabulary;
- letter legibly in a style compatible with the Architectural professionals;
- use reference materials necessary for proper design applications; and
- present to a group their thoughts and design in a clear and precise manner.

Both parts will be taught using hand-drafting techniques.
