AR 230 - Architectural Presentation/Lab Credit Hours: 3
A lecture/laboratory class introducing and governing the production of architectural 3D presentation drawings and massing models. Topics include one- and two-point perspectives and 3D computer modeling and mass modeling techniques. The students will produce one- and two-point perspectives, 3D model renderings and 3D massing models.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:
- understand and employ basic perspective techniques in order to draw interior and exterior, one and two point perspectives;
- understand and employ the terminology associated with perspectives;
- understand and apply the variables that affect the outcomes of the perspective drawing;
- understand and employ basic architectural modeling techniques in order to produce mass models in different mediums;
- understand and employ basic use of 3D modeling software in order to draw exterior massing shapes or interior spaces and apply building material finishes or elements to them;
- use reference materials necessary for proper design applications; and
- understand and employ basic use of corrective imaging software in order to cut, erase, match, fill, and color correct photographs.
