AR 240 - Architecture II/Lab Credit Hours: 5
A lecture/laboratory class introducing the management and techniques used by various firms in the design and production of construction documents for commercial structures. Some basic principles of cost estimating for commercial construction will be discussed and techniques introduced.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:
- understand and draw the lines symbols and drafting expression required for commercial drawings;
- understand and draw the various drawings and their inter-relationship for commercial structures;
- apply necessary building codes;
- use reference materials necessary for proper design applications;
- understand and employ CAD drafting techniques;
- perform informal and formal presentations to peers, faculty and professionals; and
- employ peer review techniques on class projects by way of simple constructive critiques.
