AR 260 - Models/Lab Credit Hours: 3
A two-part course. Part one covers the production of architectural space models and exploring the methods and materials used for building them. Part two covers the creation of computer generated 3D modeling animation of exterior buildings and interior spaces. This includes placing building material finishes, furnishings and lighting using computer software techniques.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:
- understand 3-dimensional space planning;
- understand and produce architectural space models;
- understand and employ the methods and materials used for building space models;
- interpret drawings and understand the relationships of the building materials to the structure itself;
- understand and employ basic use of 3D modeling software in order to create animations of exterior and interior spaces and apply building material finishes and elements to them;
- use reference materials necessary for proper design applications; and
- present to a group their thoughts, project and/or design in a clear and precise manner.
