CR 230 - Criminal Investigations I

General objectives and qualities of a criminal investigator, history of criminal investigations, and investigative steps including preliminary, follow-up and closing, rules of evidence, interviewing techniques and body language.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

understand the history of criminal investigations;
how to conduct crime scene searches;
handling and marching of all physical evidence recovered; and
development of investigative techniques.

Prerequisites: CR 170 or permission of the instructor.
