DL 244 - Lab for DL 243 Credit Hours: 3
Construction of dental prostheses including long span bridges, crowns, splints and precision attachments.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course the student should be able to accomplish the following procedures:
- mount practical cases on the semi-adjustable articulator;
- describe casting problems and how to correct them;
- construct a 3-unit broken stress bridge with mini rest attachment;
- identify margins – trim and prepare dies;
- perform and construct a semi-precision attachment (practical case);
- fabricate a full-prescription attachment (practical case);
- construct a telescopic bridge;
- construct a two-piece crown (post core and crown);
- construct a one-piece post crown;
- list sprueing and investing procedures; and
- translate prescriptions.
Prerequisites: DL 233, DL 234 Concurrent Registration: DL 243 S (S)
