SO 100 - Introduction to Sociology


Credit Hours: 3

An introductory course in the concepts of sociology; a study of social interaction, social organization and processes which are common to group and institutional life.

Fulfills SUNY General Education – Social Sciences.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  • identify & logically analyze social problems;
  • form reasoned judgments;
  • understand Sociological terminology;
  • understand social research methods;
  • analyze data;
  • interpret verbal material;
  • propose a plan for an experiment;
