EL 157 - Lab for EL 156 Credit Hours: 1.5
Experiments and demonstrations using integrated logic circuits and FPGAs to develop logic designs and combinational logic circuits, flip-flops, data registers, counters, encoding and decoding circuits, arithmetic circuits and RAM operation.
Course Outcomes At the completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- test a Boolean algebriac expression by implementing a logic circuit;
- verify circuit operation using truth tables and Karnaugh maps;
- construct, test and troubleshoot the operation of complex logic functions, registers, counters, encoder/decoders, MUX, adders, memory arrays;
- utilize FPGAs in circuit development and testing;
- write a well-organized and comprehensive report of the experimental results; and
- function effectively on a team.
Corequisites: EL 156 F/S (N)
