RA 250 - Summer Clinical II

Credit Hours: 6

Rotations through the radiotherapy departments of clinical affiliates for five (5) days per week for 12 weeks, where they undergo supervised clinical experiences. 480 hours.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

demonstrate an awareness of the ethical and legal responsibilities of radiation therapists;
deliver a planned course of radiotherapy;
simulate and plan a prescribed course of treatment;
construct immobilization and beam directional devices for external beam radiotherapy; and
assist in the preparation of brachytherapy sources, calibration of radiotherapy equipment and the maintenance of quality assurance procedures and records.
