BT 117 - Seminar for Biotechnological Science Credit Hours: 1
This course presents an overview of the biotechnological science professions. The student will be introduced to the basic terminology encountered in the profession and explore the career opportunities available to the discipline. Resume writing and interview techniques will be discussed enhancing student skills in the employment process.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- describe the biotechnological science curriculum, course sequences and major goals involved in the biotechnological science professions.
- discussion of the academic regulations of the program and the college
- identify the skills necessary to practice in the biotechnological industry;
- explore employment opportunities available to biotechnological science graduates
- demonstrate an understanding of continuing education opportunities; and
- describe the role of the technician in the quality process and in the various career paths in pharmaceutical, food processing, research and reference laboratories.
