AU 263 - Lab for Automotive Fuel and Emissions

Practical application of lecture topics.  Diagnosis and repair of modern vehicle emission control systems.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:

  • Identify the emission related components in a modern automobile as discussed in the lecture.
  • diagnose, inspect, remove and replace, rebuild, clean, adjust, test, and repair fuel and emission systems and components.
  • interpret manufacturer’s manuals and specifications.
  • select and use proper tools, equipment and materials needed to perform required job tasks.
  • demonstrate the use of special equipment, such as an EVAP test machine and/or scan tool in the diagnosing and repairing of fuel and emission systems and components.
