AR 160 - Introduction to Architectural Technologies Credit Hours: 3
This course deals with emerging software and hardware technologies in architectural or design/build industries. The process of construction and the resulting assemblies will be graphically explored using a variety of software packages. Research and fabrication are an essential part of this course and are used to stimulate students’ curiosity about architecture and the larger world and introduce them to key issues of architecture regarding space, form, critique, technology, aesthetics, societal, and cultural contexts, etc.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate proficiency and ability to adapt to a variety of 2d and 3d computer-aided drafting software packages; and
- demonstrate proficient use of technology to solve problems, achieve a goal, or perform a specific function.
