Theoretical and practical aspects of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair are covered.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

understand the fundamental operating principles and general service procedures of the automatic transmission and transaxle;
research and identify specific transmissions and transaxles;
identify other components and subsystems influencing the operation of the automatic transmission and transaxle;
theoretically diagnose and repair problems affecting the performance of the automatic transmission and transaxle; and research overhaul procedures.
