CH 114 - Chemistry for Consumers


Credit Hours: 3

A  terminal course for non-science majors which provides explanations of the chemistry observable in the household, the environment and the news.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. appraise the relationships between society and technology in the world;
  2. evaluate the historical foundations of the natural science of chemistry; and
  3. use non-technical literature to understand the impact of new chemical discoveries on our way of life.


Prerequisites: Math Placement MT 013, English Placement EN 100
