CI 260 - Estimating for Engineers Credit Hours: 3
An introduction to commercial estimating practices used by engineers. Topics to be covered are: Labor productivity and analysis, accounting analysis, work and project estimating and cost analysis. Student will use the latest computer programs to perform estimates and quantity take offs.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- perform estimates on commercial projects;
- perform accurate quantity take-offs of materials;
- perform a cost analysis of projects;
- use basic accounting terms;
- use micro-computers to solve problems, utilize commercial software; and
- determine material and labor costs.
Prerequisites: CI 100 F/S (N)
