CO 140 - Residential Construction Credit Hours: 3
A course covering the fundamental principles of materials, installation methods, safety, and management used in residential construction. Laboratory project involves the physical application of topics discussed in lecture and computer-based record-keeping of labor performances in residential construction. The course focuses on traditional or prefabricated construction methods used in producing foundation systems, sub-floor systems, wall systems, & roofing systems.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- learn the fundamentals of technical terms and building codes used in residential construction;
- layout individual building components while functioning effectively in a team relating to residential systems; and
- communicate effectively through project assignments and construction document submissions.
