CP 202 - Microcontrollers Lab


Credit Hours: 1

Programming the PIC 16C57 Microcontroller. Constructing and testing circuits to be interfaced with the “PIC 16.” Programs to be written and executed in “PBASIC.” 

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. demonstrate proficiency in PBASIC Programming Language;
  2. demonstrate proficiency in programming the PIC 16C57 (Stamp 2) microcontroller;
  3. demonstrate the ability to program the Stamp 2 to:
  4. “read” input devices such as switches, push buttons, and sensors; and
  5. control input/output devices such as:
  • motors;
  • lights;
  • displays; and
  • speakers.
  1. communicate with a host computer, process data, and information;
  2. construct simple circuits;
  3. connect and interface with the host computer;
  4. demonstrate proficiency in and understanding of flowcharting;
  5. demonstrate proficiency in and understanding of debugging code; and
  6. understand the ASCII code.
