DA 240 - Systems Analysis with Respect to Business Applications


Credit Hours: 4

The study of the methods of analysis along with the study of applications that are part of the daily operation of a computer installation. These applications are: payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing and receiving, and inventory forecast and control.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. describe the impact of information technology on business strategy and success;
  2. describe the role of the systems analyst in an information technology department;
  3. apply the principles of SDLC to various business applications;
  4. use data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, process descriptions, and other systems analysis tools within an information system; and
  5. translate business requirements into information systems that support the organization’s long- and short-term objectives.
