DF 230 - Introduction to SolidWorks Credit Hours: 2
An introduction to drafting and modeling software for the development of working drawings, which detail the manufacturer and assembly of mechanical components and devices. The course includes instruction for preparing both virtual and actual presentations utilizing printers and plotters using SolidWorks software.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- model reasonably complex mechanical parts using a solid modeling tool;
- create assemblies and drawings from solid models;
- create a list of manufacturing and other economic design considerations when creating models;
- explain the uses of solid modeling in mechanical engineering; and
- use the computer in all aspects of the mechanical design process.
