EN 296 - The Bible as Literature

1. use and define terminology relevant to the genres included in Biblical literature (such as parable, psalm, epistle);
2. demonstrate, through written work and class discussion, a knowledge of the historical and literary importance of Biblical literature;
3. demonstrate, through written work and class discussion, an ability to analyze a section of the Bible through the conventions and methods of the humanities;
4. demonstrate, through written work and class discussion, a comprehension of the interrelatedness of content and form (prophecy, parable, etc.) in a section of the Bible; and
5. demonstrate, through written work and class discussion, an understanding of the major artistic techniques employed in the various Biblical genres.
