HI 102 - American History II

A survey of American history from Reconstruction to the contemporary era.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. demonstrate an understanding of the basic narrative of American history since 1865;
  2. assess the impact of the presidents since Reconstruction;
  3. analyze the major developments in American history since the end of the Civil War, including industrialization, immigration, urbanization, political and social movements, and foreign policy;
  4. evaluate primary and secondary historical sources skillfully and honestly; and
  5. evaluate and construct coherent historical arguments.
