HR 273 - Hospitality Financial Information Systems

The hospitality industry requires large volumes of paperwork and communication to ensure proper coordination of services and internal controls. Computer systems and programs have been developed to assist management in eliminating excessive paperwork and coordinating services and internal controls. This course is designed to assist the student in developing literacy with programs presently in use in the hospitality industry.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

explain hospitality financial statements and the types of management decisions that affect them;
design a spreadsheet for the hospitality industry; and
apply financial analysis software used in the industry today.
