ME 201 - Lab for ME 200


Credit Hours: 1

The laboratory work complements the course subjects. Projects, homework, and some activities in PLC programming are a few examples of the activities.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. analyze utilization of manufacturing processes;
  2. utilize cost analysis with fixed/variable production volumes;
  3. utilize basic CIM, DFM, CE, CAM, and lean manufacturing;
  4. utilize group technology;
  5. utilize job evaluation;
  6. utilize assembly line balancing.
  7. obtain production line yield and unit product cost;
  8. analyze material handling including AGV & robotics;
  9. analyze storage and warehousing;
  10. utilize project management, Critical Path Method, perform resource allocation, optimize time and expense; and
  11. utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs).


Concurrent Registration: ME 200 or permission of the instructor.
