ML 213 - Clinical Chemistry II Lab Credit Hours: 1
Clinical Analysis III Lab is a continuation of ML 123, Clinical Analysis II Lab. This course will cover the discussion of osmolality, sodium and potassium analysis, ion-selective electrodes, blood gas analysis, enzymes, vitamins, therapeutic drug analysis, urine and serum toxicology, chromatography, and the use of the HPLC.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Perform electrolyte, enzyme, blood gas, and osmolality testing using various methods. (P, TL III, PC 2, 4, 5, 6, 7)
- Measure multiple enzymes using various methods. (P, TL III, PC 2, 4, 5, 6, 7)
- Identify pre and post analytical factors affecting samples and results. (C, TL I, PC 4, 5, 6, 7)
- Perform controls to identify any issues with testing and trouble shoot when necessary. (P, TL III PC 2, 4, 5, 6, 7)
