ML 222 - Clinical Chemistry III Credit Hours: 3
This course covers the study of carbohydrates, lipids, body fluids, tumor markers, renal and liver function testing. Emphasis will be placed on methods of analysis and clinical significance. The first semester of clinical laboratory rotation assignments must be completed.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Detail and the clinical significance, specimen precautions, and perform various methods of analysis for the determination of glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol, HDLC, and LDLC in blood. (C, P, TL III, PC 2, 4, 5, 6, 7)
- Detail the clinical significance, specimen precautions, and perform various methods of analysis for testing body fluids other than blood. (C, P, TL III, PC 2, 4, 5, 6, 7)
- Detail the clinical significance, specimen precautions, and perform various methods of analysis for renal testing. (C, P, TL III, PC 2, 4, 5, 6, 7)
- Detail the clinical significance, specimen precautions, and perform various methods of analysis for fecal testing. (C, P, TL III, PC 2, 4, 5, 6, 7)
