OF 101 - Basic Keyboarding


Credit Hours: 2

This course introduces keyboarding on the computer. Students learn the alphabetic, numeric, and symbol keys. The emphasis of the course is on the practical usage of keyboarding skills in preparing college-style papers and job application letters.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. keyboard straight-copy alphabetic and numeric material using proper touch techniques;
  2. use computer hardware, software, and peripherals;
  3. format various types of correspondence including letters and reports; and
  4. apply appropriate software features to keyboarding and formatting documents.
