PA 120 - Contracts


Credit Hours: 3

An exploration of the substantive, common, and statutory law of contracts, sales, and negotiable instruments.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. understand the sources of contract law, including common law and development and statutory developments, including the Uniform Commercial Code;
  2. understand how the substantive law of contracts in turn applies to other areas of the substantive law, including business organizations, real estate transactions, and commercial contracts; and
  3. understand the substantive law of contracts to the point of a practical application of the rules, including offer/acceptance, consideration, contractual capacity, legality, performance of the contract, statute of frauds, and remedies for breach of contract.
