DF 108 - Technical Graphics I & AutoCAD Credit Hours: 3
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the importance of engineering graphic communication to the design process. Students will gain hands-on experience creating freehand sketches, CAD technical drawings using orthographic projections, sections, auxiliary views, and isometric drawings. The course presents logical, well-tested, step-by-step instructions on traditional drafting techniques and AutoCAD commands.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- draw, dimension, and interpret basic mechanical working drawings;
- prepare accurate and concise technical reports;
- perform basic engineering calculations; and
- analyze with an explanation of the industrial working environment as it relates to management structure, work ethics, and safety.
