HC 250 - Catering and Special Events


Credit Hours: 3

This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of creating and planning a successful event. Emphasis will be on establishing the customer’s goal, budget planning, food and drink, entertainment, and the risk and safety factors involved in creating an event.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. demonstrate understanding of the use of sales techniques;
  2. present a wide range of event plans and their budgets; and
  3. acquire discernment in the establishment of the customer’s goals in having the event.
