CT 125 - Collision Technology Lab Seminar 1 Credit Hours: 1
This lab seminar will provide opportunities to apply the knowledge and practice the skills that were gained in CT 100, CT 110, CT 120, and CT 150 in an open lab setting. Students will log their experiences and receive feedback and grading from their instructor.
This seminar is for those students who do not choose to participate in the Internship courses.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- explain the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing collision repairs;
- explain the Right-To-Know laws;
- safely use the shop equipment, lifts, floor jacks, and tools used in the shop;
- perform general maintenance and upkeep on all tools and equipment;
- practice vehicle safety before, during, and after repairs;
- analyze and estimate collision damage;
- properly complete both manual and computerized damage estimates
- transfer the damage to the vehicle to establish a repair plan;
- locate and mark the vehicles’ related, unrelated, and hidden/supplemental damage using the Color-coded Marking system; and
- document and photograph the damage using an estimating software app.
