CT 140 - Non-Structural Repair I Credit Hours: 6
This lecture/lab course will introduce the students to the theory, planning, and initial steps of collision repairs. Topics will include properties of various substrates, disassembly of damaged parts and components, trim, hardware, and fasteners, part identification, and the 3-tier parts cart system.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- recognize the different properties and repair methods of the various substrates;
- identify the different parts of a vehicle and the methods of attachment;
- properly disassemble damaged vehicles with proper labeling of parts and components;
- recognize the difference between multi-use and one-time-use fasteners; and
- follow Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) regarding disassembly, part labeling, and organization along with the 3 Tier Parts cart system.
