CT 160 - Welding in Collision Repair Credit Hours: 4
This lecture/lab course will train the students to experience the various welding processes in the collision repair industry. Topics covered will be welding techniques and procedures, restoring structural integrity, removing and replacing welded panels, and the different methods of part replacement.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- perform basic welding techniques;
- recognize and duplicate the different weld joints found on today’s vehicles;
- setup and operate welding equipment;
- perform the different welding processes;
- remove and replace welded body panels;
- restore a vehicle’s structural integrity while welding; and
- complete the ICAR Steel GMA Welding Certification Test.
