CT 260 - Collision Advanced Electrical and Restraints


Credit Hours: 5

This lecture/lab course will introduce students to the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for employment in an automotive collision facility. Topics will include the theory, diagnosis, and service of automotive electrical, safety restraint, and communication systems.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. describe the theory and operation of basic electrical theory, operation and identify circuit types;
  2. utilize service information to test electrical circuits and components;
  3. inspect, repair, and/or replace vehicle electrical system circuits and components;
  4. develop safe working habits when dealing with automotive electrical and restraint systems;
  5. describe the theory and operation of vehicle restraint systems;
  6. demonstrate and document the proper diagnosis, service, and replacement of restraint system components; and
  7. perform restraint system component and module set-up/programming.
