DA 136 - Artificial Intelligence: Technology, Ethics, Societal Changes and Human Impact Credit Hours: 3
This course explores the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across industries and society. The primary focus of this course will be Large Language Models (LLM) and popular tools based on these. Students will be introduced to Artificial Intelligence concepts, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, and cybersecurity. Ethical considerations and societal implications will be emphasized throughout.
Course Outcomes By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- explain the key AI concepts and technologies;
- analyze how AI technologies such as chatbots and large language models transform business operations;
- analyze the role of AI in business innovation and societal change;
- evaluate ethical and inclusive practices in AI development;
- apply AI tools in practical scenarios such as chatbots and cybersecurity; and
- explain how AI powers robotics, evaluate practical applications across diverse industries, and analyze the implications for labor and workforce dynamics
