ME 258 - Mechanics of Materials Credit Hours: 3
This course covers stress and strain calculations to understand the behavior of material under different types of loading. Topics include fundamental stress-strain relationships, tensile, shear, torsion, bending/flexure, deflections, elongations, deformations, thermal stresses and thin wall cylinders. Prerequisites: MT 121 or MT 125, ME 114 or permission of the instructor. Concurrent Registration: ME 259 or permission of the instructor. S (N)
