Program Description

The Human Resources Management microcredential provides individuals with a basic study of management processes including supervision, operational control, labor relations, and personnel selection. This microcredential is part of a business microcredential series that we aim for offer at SUNY Erie. 

 

Admission Requirements

Students must be ready for college math and English based on placement tests or high school transcript grades. 

Outcomes

Upon completion of the Human Resources Management Microcredential, students will be able to:

  • define management, understand the eight managerial functions, conceptualize the management process, identify organizing strategies, and grasp the role of management in the global economy;
  • understand motivation theory and best practices; and
  • demonstrate basic proficiency in knowledge of federal and state substantive and labor relations laws, will appreciate the advantages and disadvantages of labor unions to both employer and employees, will be aware of recruitment, interviewing, and hiring procedures, will possess a fundamental knowledge of human motivation concepts and will be familiar with the function of Human Resources in both the private and the public sectors.
