HS 220 - Homeland Security Internship

Credit Hours: 3

This course will provide students with the opportunity to further develop their skills in real life situations. Internships are anticipated in the transportation industry (airport, bus terminals, trucking, etc.), in various federal departments and with state and local enforcement agencies. Students will be placed wherever opportunities exist in positions where they can observe and participate in homeland security activities. These activities may include inspecting a truck or cargo for possible WMD’s, conducting a risk assessment for a public or private building or assisting in the collection, collation and use of intelligence data. The intent of this course is to allow students to sharpen their skills and examine areas of interest that they may want to pursue as a career or for additional education.
