GC 253 - Capstone for Graphic Communications Technology


Credit Hours: 3

Develop a comprehensive capstone project with insight and consultation from field professionals and or instructors. Apply knowledge and skills gained in the career program. Develop and create a professional portfolio for use in employment application in the field of graphic communications and participate in a student exhibit to showcase their work. May include opportunity for job shadow or internship option.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1.  identify gaps in portfolio and re-work existing projects and/or develop new projects with a professional level of quality for inclusion of final portfolio
  2. work with field professionals to develop marketing project for inclusion of student exhibit
  3. create a self-promotional visual identity package, include print, web and digital
  4. present and display work, to include individual exhibit space and collaboration to develop department exhibit
