PA 111 - Constitutional Law Credit Hours: 3
This course delves into the complexities of the United States Constitution through a lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. We’ll move beyond traditional interpretations to explore how the Constitution has both upheld and challenged the rights of marginalized groups throughout American history. Through critical analysis of landmark cases, contemporary issues, and diverse perspectives, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of core constitutional issues.
Course Outcomes Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- explain key concepts in constitutional law, such as federalism, separation of powers, judicial review, and individual rights;
- understand the history of constitutional law and apply various constitutional interpretations to reflect on the U.S. Constitution’s impact on marginalized groups;
- analyze and evaluate how constitutional law and the judiciary have been used to promote and limit equality; and
- apply constitutional principles to contemporary issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
