SP 112 - Intermediate Spanish

Credit Hours: 3

The goal of this course is to improve student’s communicative ability by expanding vocabulary and grammatical concepts. There will be special emphasis on the understanding of grammatical structures beyond the basics to establish a solid foundation in the language.

Course Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

comprehend and utilize fundamental vocabulary in speech, reading, and writing;
utilize more complex grammatical structures of the language;
understand, read, and write beginning to intermediate Spanish;
speculate about the future, relate sentences in a more complex fashion, and write brief, coherent, and correct paragraphs on simple topics
recognize the cultural diversity of the people who speak the language
become familiar with the writers and works of introductory-level works
